MOUNTED SHERIFF'S POSSE PRESENTS SCHOLARSHIP CHECK TO YAVAPAI COLLEGE

The Yavapai County Mounted Sheriff's Posse has presented the check for the Ralph Hooker Scholarships, money awarded to 10 county students attending Yavapai College this fall.

YCMSP official Chris Hill and YCSO Public Affairs Officer Steve Brazell joined Yavapai College Foundation officials Tim Mitzel and Ashley Hust for the presentation on June 9th.

YCSO HAS FIVE NEW DEPUTIES FOLLOWING NARTA CLASS 58 GRADUATION

Five new YCSO deputies were sworn in June 5 at the graduation of NARTA Class 58.
One of the new deputies, Jay Justiz, was presented the class Physical Fitness Award.
NARTA Class Sergeant Stephen Berry of YCSO presented certificates of appreciation to Deputy Luke Boling (Recruit Training Officer) and Deputy Daniel McGinnis (Drill Instructor) for their excellent work at NARTA.

Scammers are using YCSO and agency personnel names to defraud people out of thousands of dollars in a current ongoing con job.
The scammer pretends to be a YCSO deputy or official and tells the victim they will be arrested and jailed if they don't immediately pay a phony old fine or some other court obligation.
No law enforcement agency, including YCSO, will ever call you and demand payment!

YAVAPAI COUNTY SEES RISING METH NUMBERS IN OVERDOSE FATALITIES

Although illicit fentanyl grabs headlines, a recent report from MATFORCE shows a huge increase in methamphetamine involvement in Yavapai county overdose fatalities in recent years.
YCSO is part of the Yavapai County Overdose Fatality Review Board, and the latest report of 2024 drug overdose deaths shows an 88% increase in meth-related fatalities in the past eight years.
