Man Dies in House Fire

​CORDES LAKES, AZ – Shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday, deputies from YCSO responded to a house fire in Cordes Lakes.
​Upon arrival, deputies were informed by a woman that her 37 year old step-son was still inside the residence. Tragically, the man was unable to escape and was later found deceased within the home.

Pregnant Woman Injured - Hit and Run Suspect Arrested

Rimrock, AZ - A 29-year-old pregnant woman sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car and was transported by air to a hospital in the Phoenix area, where she is expected to survive. The Sheriff’s office has been informed that the unborn child is ok.
Late Sunday night, the suspect, 30 year-old Jesus Junior Ruiz Hernandez was arrested for hit and run, endangerment, and disorderly.

Two YCSO Employees Honored For Providing a Quarter Century of Service

Deputy Aaron Russell and PANT Coordinator Crystal Johnson were honored before the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Sept 3rd for 25 years of service.
YCSO Chief Deputy Jeff Newnum, in recognizing both a unformed deputy and an administrative position, told the Supervisors, "Every single job in our agency functions to bring public safety and preserve the quality of life we enjoy in this county."

Cottonwood Man Gets More Than 7 Years in Prison in YCSO Drug Case

31-year-old Tylor Hanes of Cottonwood, a suspected drug dealer, was arrested in May by the YCSO Special Crimes Unit and PANT on multiple drug charges involving meth and cocaine, and weapons misconduct.
Now, Hanes has been sentenced to more than 7 years behind bars after a guilty plea.
Some drugs and weapons were found in a home less than 300 feet from a daycare center and close to a grade school.
