ONGOING SCAM PRETENDS TO BE YCSO DEMANDING PAYMENT OR YOU GO TO JAIL!

Scammers are using YCSO and agency personnel names to defraud people out of thousands of dollars in a current ongoing con job.
The scammer pretends to be a YCSO deputy or official and tells the victim they will be arrested and jailed if they don't immediately pay a phony old fine or some other court obligation.
No law enforcement agency, including YCSO, will ever call you and demand payment!

YAVAPAI COUNTY SEES RISING METH NUMBERS IN OVERDOSE FATALITIES

Although illicit fentanyl grabs headlines, a recent report from MATFORCE shows a huge increase in methamphetamine involvement in Yavapai county overdose fatalities in recent years.
YCSO is part of the Yavapai County Overdose Fatality Review Board, and the latest report of 2024 drug overdose deaths shows an 88% increase in meth-related fatalities in the past eight years.

FIRE RESTRICTIONS ARE NOW IN EFFECT ALL OVER YAVAPAI COUNTY

May was Wildfire Awareness Month, but YCSO urges residents and visitors alike to keep safety in mind all year long, because wildfires do not obey any calendar.
Stage 1 and 2 Fire Restrictions are now in effect under orders from various government agencies and these can change at any time, based on several safety factors.
We encourage everyone to stay informed of this important information.

YCSO BIKE SAFETY CLASS AT MAYER ELEMENTARY WITH DEPUTY DO RIGHT

Just before students started their summer vacation, Deputy Do Right and YCSO Sgt Darrell McClintock teamed up for a bike safety class at Mayer Elementary School.
About 200 youngsters learned the basics of safe bicycle operation, including always wear a helmet and bright colored clothing, make double sure the coast is clear before you cross a street, and do not ride alone.

About 30 residents showed up at Willow Wind Senior Living in Prescott for our latest public presentation on how to protect yourself against becoming a victim of a scam, proving again the increased interest in this topic in recent weeks.
Yavapai county residents lost millions of dollars last year to scams and fraud, and this year has started off worse. Please attend one of these seminars near you.
