35k Ring Stolen - Housekeeper Arrested

DEWEY, AZ – The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 53-year-old housekeeper in connection with the theft of a ring valued at approximately $35,000 from a Dewey resident, who is a woman in her 80s. The stolen ring has been recovered thanks to diligent work by a YCSO detective.

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) actively investigated a credible threat made against Dr. Daniel Bright Elementary School. One individual has been detained in connection with the incident. There are no outstanding suspects.

Hundreds of people gathered on the Prescott Courthouse Plaza on Saturday, Sept 20th, at the 13th Annual Hope Fest AZ celebration.
One memorable part of the day was when the organizers held a public ceremony to honor the memory of fallen YCSO Sgt Rick "R-Lo" Lopez and presented his widow, Kym, with a commemorative Honor and Sacrifice flag.

Early Thursday morning, a Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a driver for traveling 103 mph on State Route 89A.
Instead of pulling over, the driver slowed to a crawl, leading deputies on an unusual low-speed pursuit while swerving erratically and appearing to record using his phone.

YCSO Fraud Investigator Ron Norfleet told more than 40 folks at Granite Dells Estates this week about ways they can protect themselves from becoming scam victims, as turnouts for his presentation continue to grow this year.
One of the newest parts of his presentation is a video about artificial intelligence, a key tool for scammers. Everyone/everything in the video looks real, but it's all fake!
