Arizona State Statute 11-1008 Dog license requirements for the unincorporated areas of Yavapai County

Dog licenses can be renewed annually or purchased up to three years in conjunction with your rabies vaccination.

Dogs 3 months of age and older must be vaccinated for the rabies virus by a DVM and wear a current Yavapai County Dog License. (Dog licenses are available annually).

Dog licenses may be purchased from the Yavapai Humane Society, YCSO Locations, and low-cost spay and neuter clinics.

Many people ask and no you will NOT GET A NEW PHYSICAL TAG unless your tag has been lost stolen or is no longer readable.

Yavapai County switched to DocuPet for dog licensing on September 9th, 2026.

HOW TO REGISTER YOUR DOG ONLINE:

    • Licensing fees:
      • Altered Animals: $5.00 per year
      • Un-altered Animals: $25.00 per year
        • Plus $2.00 Online Processing Fee
  • Documentation Requirements: 
    •  Rabies Proof: A valid rabies certificate must be on file or provided at the time of licensing. 
    •  Spay/Neuter Proof: Digital proof is required if the pet’s status is updated from intact to altered to receive the discounted altered license rate. This proof must be on file or provided at the time of licensing.

  • Pet owners may download, print, and complete an offline licensing form to mail to:

  • Forms are available at ycsoaz.docupet.com or included with letter renewal communications. 
  • Payment: Pet owners may pay by mail via check only. All checks must be made payable to DocuPet Corp.

      • Altered Animals: $5.00 per year
      • Un-altered Animals: $25.00 per year
  • Documentation Requirements:

Step 4.Bring the exact amount in cash, a check or money order payable to YCSO, or by credit or debit cards.

Fees are as follows:

  • $5.00 for altered animals and proof of altering must be provided at the time of purchase as well as current rabies vaccination for the calendar year
  • $25.00 for unaltered animals and proof of rabies vaccination for the calendar year. Plus an additional $2.00 Processing Fee (debit/credit transactions only)
