YCSO K9 UNIT RECEIVES DONATION FROM LOCAL RESIDENT

Once again this year, local resident Wendy Skaggs held a holiday fundraiser in Prescott which resulted in a generous donation to the YCSO K9 Unit. 

She presented the check to YCSO Capt Jarrod Winfrey, himself a veteran of serving in the K9 unit with his partner, Gemma, who won a National Police Canine Association case detection award in 2016. K9 Gemma was permitted to retire a few years later due to a knee injury and then spent the rest of her days living with the Winfrey clan and playing daily with the family's two boys, before being humanely euthanized December 20th due to complications of old age.
