APPLICATIONS FOR YC MOUNTED SHERIFF'S POSSE SCHOLARSHIPS NOW AVAILABLE
Published on January 29, 2025
The Yavapai County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse (YCMSP) is looking for deserving high school seniors around the county for another round of $1,000 college scholarships to be handed out this spring.
In 2024, more than 50 seniors from 14 schools (along with one home-schooled student) submitted applications for the grants and 37 of them received the financial awards, including the first-ever grant to a student from Wickenburg HS.
YCMSP has two types of college grants available: the Ralph Hooker Memorial Scholarship awarded only to students attending Yavapai College, and the YCMSP Scholarship which can be used at any college. (Ralph Hooker was a charter member of the Posse when it was formed in 1941 and an active member for 45 years)
YCMSP has handed out more than $650,000 in scholarships since 1958. The 40-member Posse holds four major fundraising events each year to finance the awards to students.
To receive an application or if you have questions, please contact Chris Hill at (602) 320-3430.
The applications are detailed, so please start the process early. Applications are due by April 5, 2025.
