13 Warrant Arrests in One Day

On Saturday, January 10, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) Special Crimes Unit (SCU) led a large multi-agency warrant operation, resulting in more than a dozen arrests for charges ranging from dangerous drug possession and aggravated assault to fraud and trafficking stolen property.

Many of the suspects were being held on "no-bond" warrants. Key arrests included:

• Extradition Warrant: An individual was arrested on a statewide extradition warrant out of Maricopa County for Larceny, Theft, Fraud, and Unlawful Use of Food Stamps.

• Grand Jury Warrant: One individual was taken into custody on a Grand Jury warrant for Trafficking Stolen Property.

• Probation Violation: A suspect was arrested on a no-bond warrant for Probation Violation regarding original charges of Aggravated Assault.

• Narcotics Warrants: Two individuals were arrested on warrants involving the possession of dangerous drugs and paraphernalia.

• Additional Arrests: Suspects were also taken into custody for Aggravated Harassment, Disorderly Conduct, Aggravated DUI, and substantial missed Child Support payments.

Significant intelligence provided by YCSO Detectives bolstered the success of the operation. The Rescue 1 helicopter assisted ground units with approximately 10 different searches for wanted suspects.

The operation concluded with the arrest of a driver who fled a traffic stop. A deputy was conducting an unrelated traffic stop in Prescott Valley when the driver struck a curb nearby. When the deputy attempted to investigate, the driver refused to exit the vehicle and fled at a high rate of speed.

Despite the suspect's attempt to evade, SCU and area deputies found the vehicle, took the driver into custody, and arrested him in part for Aggravated DUI.
