Cottonwood Man Gets More Than 7 Years in Prison in YCSO Drug Case

On May 17th, 2025, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Special Crimes Unit stopped a vehicle driven by a suspected Verde Valley drug dealer, 31–year–old Tylor Hanes, in Cottonwood. After Hanes was taken into custody, PANT Detectives discovered guns, 319 grams of methamphetamine, and almost 52 grams of cocaine. Many of the drugs and other items were in a home that was close to a nearby daycare and an elementary school.
Hanes was arrested for drug possession, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, misconduct involving weapons, possession of dangerous drugs for sale, and prohibited possession of weapons.
On August 19th, Hanes was sentenced in Yavapai County Superior Court to a total of more than 7 years in the Arizona State Prison (including one 5-year flat time term).
