TRI-CITY TASK FORCE SPEED AND AGGRESSIVE DRIVING ENFORCEMENT
PRESCOTT ARIZONA (February 6, 2023) – Thursday morning February 2, 2023, the Tri-City Traffic Task Force conducted Speed and Aggressive Driving enforcement on Yavapai County roadways.
8 total Law Enforcement Officers from the Tri-City agencies including Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Public Safety, Prescott Police Department, Prescott Valley Police Department, and Chino Valley Police Department targeted the Williamson Valley and Kirkland areas covering Iron Springs Rd, Williamson Valley Rd, and HWY 89 between Yarnell and Wilhoit. Officers had a very busy morning conducting this special enforcement detail conducting 61 total traffic stops resulting in 87 total citations.
Officers additionally responded to numerous collisions in their own jurisdictions. Citations issued included 53 speeding citations, 1 cell phone citation, 2 Unsafe Passing (No Passing Zone) citations, and 31 additional civil sanctions. The highest speed observed was a motorist traveling 64 MPH in a posted 35 MPH zone.
YCSO and the rest of the Tri-City Traffic Task Force will continue to work together in specifically targeted areas that see an increase in speed-related collisions and aggressive driving complaints.
