UPDATE 04/17: 7:40 PM, Traffic on I-40 is being stopped now and may be stopped periodically this evening as crews work on the poles and wires. Power is expected to be restored to Seligman around midnight. Yavapai County Volunteer teams, including Jeep Posse, will be in the area throughout the night for those in need.

A Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputy recently responded to a complex scene early Thursday morning April 16th, involving a semi-truck fire, and downed and falling power lines on I-40 in Seligman. Following an extensive search, the deputy located the driver approximately 20 minutes later and detained him for transport back to the scene. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZ DPS) handled the crash investigation.
YCSO would like to thank Seligman Fire, our responding deputies, and AZ DPS for their seamless teamwork in ensuring public safety. We also extend our gratitude to Yavapai County Emergency Management, Yavapai County Search and Rescue Team 4x4 unit and the Yavapai County Jeep Posse for their ongoing efforts to support the Seligman community during this significant power outage.
