Plane Crashes North of Prescott Valley

Just after 8:00 PM on February 4th, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) deputies responded to reports of a downed plane north of Prescott Valley, near Poquito Valley Road. With the assistance of Native Air, deputies located the wreckage in an open field.

The sole occupant of the aircraft, a 64-year-old male, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.  

YCSO extends our deepest condolences to the pilot’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will lead the investigation into the cause of the crash.
