YCSO SEEKING PUBLIC'S HELP IN LOCATING WEAPON IN FATAL INCIDENT IN BCC

Black Canyon City, AZ (December 21, 2023) - On December 15th, YCSO responded to a call of a black Hyundai Sonata that had been sitting in a dirt lot for a few days in Black Canyon City near Mud Springs Road and the I-17 Overpass. When deputies arrived, they found a man later identified as missing out of Phoenix, deceased in the vehicle from gunshot wound. The investigation is ongoing however detectives have not ruled out that the gunshot may have been self-inflicted.

The vehicle, which was in a heavily trafficked area, appeared to have been vandalized. No firearm was found in or around the area and may have been stolen from the vehicle. YCSO is seeking information on the whereabouts of the property.
