After nearly three decades of service at YCSO, Finance Manager Jennifer Gray was honored by several past and present Yavapai County officials during a retirement ceremony Feb 29th in Prescott.
Gray started as a clerk in the YCSO Finance Department 29 years ago, and she worked her way up to the top position, serving under several Sheriffs, two of which were at the ceremony. Former Sheriff Scott Mascher commended Gray for her exceptional work under his administration, and current Sheriff David Rhodes did the same. Along with retired 22-year Yavapai County Attorney Sheila Polk, they each expressed admiration for Gray's professionalism and her ability to consistently keep YCSO financial affairs in order as the agency grew exponentially during her employment. The agency budget increased from $7 million to more than $63 million during her tenure, while staffing went from 180 to nearly 500 employees over that period.
