YCSO WEEKEND ROUNDUP: HUMAN REMAINS DISCOVERED AND MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT
PRESCOTT ARIZONA (January 09, 2023) –Another busy weekend for Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Deputies who responded to the discovery of unknown human remains near Seligman and a motorcycle accident on Cornville Rd at the switchbacks.
HUMAN REMAINS: Sunday afternoon, YCSO Deputies responded to the report of the discovery of human remains just north of Seligman. The reporting party located a vehicle and a collapsed tent on an empty parcel near their residence. Upon looking at the tent they discovered the remains, which had been scattered from animal activity. Due to the condition of the remains, positive identification is not available now. Foul play is not suspected at this time. The scene and findings are currently being investigated by YCSO Detectives.
MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT: Later, Sunday evening YCSO deputies were dispatched to a motorcycle accident on Cornville Rd at the switchbacks. Arriving almost immediately, the responding Deputy found two people laying on the ground next to a motorcycle. Both the driver and passenger were breathing and awake but with visible injuries. The Deputy stabilized the two patients until Verde Valley Fire Department could arrive to take over care. Witnesses report the motorcycle was speeding and driving erratically as it approached the switchbacks. The driver and passenger were flown separately to Flagstaff Medical Center and Deer Valley Medical Center with serious and critical injuries. Driver impairment is undetermined at this time and being investigated.
