NOTE:  The public memorial service for Deputy Jesse Hubble was held Thursday, May 23 at 1:00pm at Yavapai College in Prescott. You may view the entire service on our Facebook page (Yavapai County Sheriff's Office).

It is with great sadness that the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office announces the death of Deputy Jesse Hubble, who passed away from natural causes at the age of 47 in his Chino Valley home early May 15, 2024. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Deputy Hubble was first hired by YCSO in July 2017, and after graduating from the Training Academy he was assigned to the northern area of the County in January 2018. Three years later, he was also assigned as a Field Training Officer for newly hired YCSO deputies.

He was a US Navy Veteran, having received a Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroism in 2007 for rescuing a Navy pilot whose helicopter had crashed into the ocean.

In 2023, Deputy Hubble was given an award by the members of the American Legion Robert Fulton Post 57 of Ash Fork for his selfless commitment to the community.

Deputy Hubble was not only well-respected by his peers and outside law enforcement agencies, but by the communities in which he served. He has been lauded by his superiors for his sound judgement in stressful situations, his calm and reserved demeanor, and his willingness to step up to assist in any capacity. “Deputy Jesse Hubble served this nation and YCSO with humility, honor and a servant’s heart,” said Sheriff David Rhodes. “His sacrifices will never be forgotten. Please join me and the entire Yavapai County Law Enforcement community in offering our condolences to his wife and children. Jesse Hubble - we thank you for your life of service to your country and your community.”

Hubble was a committed local youth sports volunteer and coach. Here is just one testimony from a parent whose son Hubble had touched:

"Officer Hubble changed my 16-yr-old son's life. My son went on a month's worth of craziness, lashing out, disorderly, etc. My son got in trouble with the law and officer Hubble decided to warn him, instead of the 4 charges he most certainly could have charged him with. The next month my son turned 17, went on to become the youngest infantryman in the US Army, now he is in the pipeline for Ranger school."

YCSO will be holding a fundraiser for the family and will provide more details in the future. If you would like to donate now, you can utilize the link on this website (ycsoaz.gov).  Start with "I want to", then "Donate to YCSO".

Or you may send alternative forms of donations to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office. Checks or money orders must be made out to YCSO Employee Fund with, “Benevolence Fund: Jesse Hubble” written on the memo line. Thank you.
