YCSO CONDUCTS ADDITIONAL PATROL FOCUSED ON TRAFFIC SAFETY THANKS TO GRANT FROM GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF HIGHWAY SAFETY

PRESCOTT, AZ (October 4, 2023) – YCSO Deputies conducted extra patrol details in areas of the County based on the high number of complaints and concerns reported by citizens.  The extra detail, which are in addition to the regular patrol detail by the agency, was made possible by a grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

In September 2023, YCSO worked six (6) additional details with seven (7) Deputies assigned to the following area:  Williamson Valley Road, Coyote Springs, Antelope Meadows, Prescott East Highway, and Cornville Road.

During that time, Deputies conducted 67 traffic stops and issued 53 citations, making an impact on speeding, reckless driving, and other moving violations in those highly affected areas.

YCSO would like to thank residents for their commitment to working with Deputies to keep their communities safe.  We also want to thank the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for the grant not only to pay for the extra patrols, but for purchase of two police vehicles used by our traffic enforcement section specifically to focus on traffic safety.
