YCSO FRAUDS AND SCAMS FREE PUBLIC PRESENTATION OPEN FOR SCHEDULING
Published on November 26, 2024
Do you know someone who has fallen victim to that phone call, text message, e mail, or social media contact from a scammer who was able to convince them to give up personal or financial information? Or even convinced them to send thousands of dollars to someone they had never met?
Tragically, hardly a week goes by where someone in Yavapai County isn't scammed out of a large sum of money through a wide range of fraud tactics used by criminals these days. And with Artificial Intelligence (AI), it's only getting worse, because the scammers can use AI to pretend to be just about anyone in order to make their scam more convincing.
YCSO is offering free public presentations about frauds and scams to any civic organization or group that is interested. Fraud Investigator Ron Norfleet has compiled critical information that exposes how scammers operate and how you can protect yourself against their schemes.
To schedule his presentation for your group, please call him at (928) 771-3299, or you may call Public Affairs Officer Steve Brazell at (928) 554-8704. The more folks that know how these criminals operate, the more people who will not fall victim to their scams.
