A suspect was arrested after a robbery at a Dewey business, during which a female clerk was assaulted. The suspect was identified and arrested the following day by the responding deputy.
On October 24, 2025, at approximately 10:00 AM, deputies responded to a robbery at a business located at the corner of Hwy 69 and Kachina.
The investigation determined that a male subject attempted to purchase a product with insufficient funds. When the clerk refused the sale and returned his money, the suspect refused repeated orders to leave the store.
The situation escalated when the suspect reached over the display counter and violently grabbed the clerk by her hair, tearing a handful out. He then forcibly took the product from her and fled the store on foot.
The next day, the YCSO Deputy patrolled the area near the business when he observed a male subject walking on Indian Hills Rd who matched the suspect's appearance from the surveillance footage. The deputy initiated contact with the man, identified as Daniel Bentler.
During questioning, the deputy was able to visually identify Bentler as the same person in the video. Bentler was subsequently arrested for Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and Burglary.
