YCSO SPENDS THE AFTERNOON AT ASH FORK SCHOOL INTERACTING WITH THE KIDS
Published on October 25, 2024
YCSO's top attraction, aka Deputy Do Right, was able to visit K-5 classrooms at the Ash Fork School October 24th and, to no one's surprise, he was a huge kid favorite.
Do Right exchanged high-fives, handed out some 'swag' including his new sticker (it's #1 with kids and adults alike), YCSO kids hats, and the Do Right tattoo. The 5th grade students had Do Right sign autographs! He also handed out YCSO miniature patrol cars to some Spartans of the Month, recognizing their accomplishments.
YCSO Sgt Jack Mattox and Deputy Ryan Palmer were also able to address an assembly for grades 6-8 on the important topic of bullying. They stressed respect for others, and treating fellow students as you would like to be treated, and strongly encouraged the students to quickly report bullying activity to a trusted adult, so it can be addressed before it gets any worse. They also spoke about the possible legal consequences the person responsible for the bullying might face and encouraged the young people to make wise choices now, because their choices today can affect accomplishing future ambitions and goals.
YCSO sends out a great "thank you" to Superintendent Seth Staples and Nurse Randi Campbell for organizing this outstanding afternoon and allowing us to interact with the youngsters in Ash Fork. Go Spartans!
