The YCSO Detention Services Division has three new top-level leaders following their promotion, including the agency's first-ever female Captain.

Eric Stumpf is now the Commander over Detention Services, while Joseph Lincoln and Erin Tippett have achieved the rank of Captain in that division. Tippett becomes the first female YCSO Captain in the history of the agency.

Sheriff David Rhodes joined others from YCSO, along with friends and family of those being promoted, at the ceremonies in Prescott. The Sheriff commended all three honorees for their dedication and excellence in more than 50 years of combined service to the agency, all of it in Detention Services. He also said the jail operations in Yavapai County have greatly benefitted from the leadership, expertise, and hard work of those being given these new responsibilities.

Commander Stumpf has been with YCSO for 20 years, served as a Detention Training Officer (DTO) and on the Special Response Team (SRT), and had previous promotions to Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain.

Captain Lincoln has nearly two decades of service with YCSO, also serving as a DTO and on the SRT, with previous promotions to Sergeant and Lieutenant.

Captain Tippett, who is a veteran of the Army National Guard, joined YCSO in 2012 and four years later was honored as Detention Deputy of the Year, with previous promotions to Sergeant and Lieutenant.
