Crisis Intervention Training for 2023 started today in Cottonwood Az
Published on May 01, 2023
Crisis Intervention Training for 2023 started today in Cottonwood Az.
The Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Model is a collaborative approach to safety and effectively addresses the needs of persons with mental illnesses, links them to appropriate services, and diverts them from the Criminal Justice System, if appropriate.
Since integrating CIT to Yavapai County Law Enforcement in 2016, the Camp Verde Justice Center has seen a 23% decrease in inmate recidivism (the tendency of a
convicted criminal to reoffend) rates.
YCSO in cooperation with many agencies and partners across Yavapai County, hosts this 40hr training for law enforcement professionals twice a year.
