YCSO and our SWAT Bearcat vehicle once again were front and center Oct 7th at the Cottonwood National Night Out celebration, our second such appearance in the county in two nights.
Kids and adults alike enjoyed climbing in the Bearcat, and we handed out lots of cool stuff from our display table, including our new stress-relieving Cowboy Hats and pet-friendly Frisbees, along with Jr Deputy badges and K9 trading cards.
We also got out lots of National Child ID Program inkless fingerprint kits to grateful parents. These free kits, which are retained by the parents, are always available weekdays from 8am-4pm at our Camp Verde substation office near the jail facility. They can save law enforcement critical time if a child goes missing, and can also include DNA, photograph, physical characteristics, and medical info.
Thanks to CPD Chief Freudenthal for the invitation to take part in this great community event again this year.
