YCSO has promoted 30-year law enforcement veteran Alan Conner to Sergeant with the Northern Area Command.

Chief Deputy Jeff Newnum did the honors of swearing in Conner to his new position in a ceremony April 21st in Prescott. Conner is relatively new to YCSO, having been hired as a lateral deputy last August, but he is not new to law enforcement. His career spans three decades in Utah, with 20 years as a Special Agent with that state's Attorney General's Office, and 12 years as an officer and detective with Salt Lake City PD.

Sgt Conner in March was awarded Deputy of the Year by the Prescott Elks Lodge for his excellent work in helping to stop suspects in a large train burglary in October in northern Yavapai county, one of many such incidents which have plagued BNSF railroad shipments between Ash Fork and Kingman.
