Two YCSO detention officers received the agency's Lifesaving Award in a ceremony at the Prescott Criminal Justice Center.

Patrick Colvin and Griffen Mazy were honored in front of family and co-workers late last year for preventing a jail inmate from taking his own life in his cell in 2024 at the Prescott jail facility. Presenting the award was Detention Services Commander Brent Kimbriel and YCSO Chief Deputy Jeff Newnum.

Colvin started with YCSO in 2011 as a Detention Officer, has served as a Detention Training Officer, and received a promotion in 2017. Mazy has been with the agency as a Detention Officer for less than two years.
