2024 BLUE LIGHTS CEREMONY HONORS LAW ENFORCEMENT
Published on January 11, 2024
On national “Law Enforcement Appreciation Day” (Jan 9, 2024) Yavapai County Sheriff David Rhodes and other local law enforcement leaders thanked the community for their support in a special ceremony on the Prescott Courthouse Plaza.
On a cold evening in downtown Prescott, a large section of the Courthouse holiday lights went “blue” to show the community’s support for the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to keep the public safe. Besides the Sheriff, other speakers included YCSO Chief Deputy Jeff Newnum, Prescott Police Chief Amy Bonney, Prescott Valley Police Chief Bob Ticer, and Chino Valley Deputy Police Chief Joshua McIntyre. All of the officials thanked the public for overwhelming support for local law enforcement, spoke about the daily sacrifice of officers and deputies, and encouraged members of the community to consider a rewarding career in law enforcement.
