IT'S A YCSO 3-PEAT IN THE 3RD ANNUAL SGT TIEMAN MEMORIAL BEARCAT PULL
Published on April 14, 2025
It was a matter of inches, but that's all YCSO SWAT needed to win the 2025 Sgt Tieman Memorial Bearcat Pull in downtown Prescott on a beautiful April 12th. YCSO accomplished a three-peat in the event, having won it the past two years as well.
The event matches 8-member teams from first responders and civilian groups in a double-elimination tournament that requires pulling a 10-ton SWAT Bearcat vehicle about half a block on Cortez St in downtown Prescott. It took everything YCSO SWAT had to beat the team from Prescott Valley PD in a photo finish for the crown, after having defeated PVPD by inches in an earlier round matchup in the competition. PVPD beat Prescott PD to reach the final round.
YCSO wants to thank those who entered this year, including civilian teams from Asphalt Paving and Supply and High Desert Investors, along with all of the great spectators, friends, and family members who showed up to cheer on their favorite team, many of whom donated money to the AZ Special Olympics cause. An estimated $5,000 was raised during the event, and YCSO says, "Thank you"!
