13 Pounds of Cocaine Discovered in Flatbed Truck

 On Thursday, June 12th, Yavapai County Sheriff deputies conducted a traffic stop on a driver driving a commercial flatbed truck along Interstate 17, just south of Cordes Lakes. During the stop, deputies discovered several kilo-sized packages containing a white powder inside the cab of the truck. The powder tested positive for cocaine, weighing in at approximately 13 pounds. The driver, 33-year-old Carlos Gomez, from New Mexico, was arrested for multiple drug charges. The investigation is ongoing.
