The K9 Interdiction Team conducts proactive enforcement on the main throughfares in the area attempting to disrupt criminal organizations transporting drugs, guns, money and people through Yavapai County enroute to other locations in the country. PANT detectives conduct follow-up investigations on K9 interdiction loads and also assist local agencies with providing K9 services as requested.
Overdose Death Investigators
The Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking Taskforce has two specially trained Overdose Death Investigators (ODI’s). They respond to the scene of nearly all drug overdoses resulting in death as well as overdoses resulting in saved lives. The investigators conduct interviews with families and friends, collect evidence at the scene and attempt to identify persons responsible for providing the drugs to the decedents. They also attend regular Overdose Fatality Review Board meetings where they meet with local stakeholders including MATFORCE. The goal of these meetings is to learn more about who these victims were as people, the events leading up to their death and to attempt to give a voice to the victims and hold those providing this poison to our community accountable.
