Inmate Services

This Bureau is under the command of an assigned Lieutenant who reports directly to the Captain for the Detention Services Division.   The Inmate Services Bureau is comprised of Food Services and Inmate Programs.

Food Services - The Yavapai County Detention facility has a fully equipped full-service kitchen. The Food Services Manager supervises both employed staff and a crew of minimum security working inmates who assist in the preparation of meals. Inmates receive three meals per day; special prepared meals due to medical or dietary requirements are also provided. Registered dietitians approve all menu items and the kitchen is routinely reviewed by health inspectors. Approximately 650,000 meals are prepared each year at a cost of approximately eighty cents each.

Inmate Programs/Volunteer Services - Personnel assigned to this area oversee all programs and services available to inmates incarcerated in the Yavapai County Detention facilities. Programs offered to inmates include Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Bible Study, Church Services, and General Education Development (GED) classes.

Community volunteers continue to offer their time to facilitate the 12-step program as well as church services and bible study. Religious programming is overseen by volunteer Detention Chaplains who are dedicated to providing care for the inmates in need during incarceration as well as to their family members.

Notary services are available to inmates as well as commissary items for those with funds and indigent packets for those without. Inmates may take advantage of our well-stocked library while they await their legal proceedings. Additional, a local barber offers haircuts to those inmates who request one during incarceration.
