This Bureau is under the command of an assigned Lieutenant who reports directly to the Captain for the Detention Services Division. The Transportation Services Bureau is comprised of Northern Court Services, Eastern Court Services and Shuttle Services.
Court Services / Shuttle Services - Personnel assigned to these areas are responsible for the facilitation of transport of the inmates. The main function of Court Services personnel is to ensure that all incarcerated individual are transported safely to and from all scheduled court appearances, medical appointments or other appointments as ordered by the Courts of Yavapai County. The main function of Shuttle Services personnel is to ensure that all incarcerated individuals are transported safely between detention facilities, in state and out of state prison systems and county facilities.
The Court and Shuttle Services perform approximately 40,000 inmate transport per year and utilize over 60,000 man-hours to accomplish this. Personnel assigned to these areas are required to maintain the same level of weapon proficiency and continual weapons training as a certified Deputy Sheriff.
