Detention Services Division

It is the objective of the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Detention Services Division to provide a safe and secure environment for persons committed to the custody of the Sheriff while protecting the citizens and crime victims of Yavapai County through a cost effective care and custody system. The Detention Services Division is comprised of over 200 permanent, full-time employees. The average daily inmate population is approximately 550. The total bookings per year are well over 10,000. The Sheriff’s Office maintains two Detention Facilities within the county, one in Prescott and one in the Verde Valley. The Prescott facility currently serves as an intake and court holding facility, which the Camp Verde complex operates as our main housing facility.

The Detention Services Division currently has six (6) Bureaus within the division. Each Bureau is headquartered in the Eastern Detention facility located in Camp Verde.

Within each of these Bureaus are a multitude of operations that include care, custody and control of detainees, medical services, transport, extraditions, and records management. The talented and dedicated employees who provide these services are trained professionals in various degrees meeting all the expectations of the Agency. Yavapai County continues to undergo a tremendous amount of growth in population and change. It is our goal to strive to achieve our objectives with continued communication and improved services to the citizens we serve.
